Meet Daisy. A mostly golden retriever who stole our hearts and soon will steal our minds.
Born on July 29, 2008, Miss Daisy is now 8 1/2 weeks old. We picked her up at a family who lives just before Wickenburg, AZ this past Saturday. I don't think we were thinking clearly.
I went from having the life of doing what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it to Daisy's life. An infant dog who likes to go potty every 3 hours, even in the middle of the night. I am as tired as I was when the kids were babies, probly more so now cause this baby doesn't wear diapers.
It doesn't help when I am training her one way all day then the other 4 members of the family come home from school and work and they don't train her, she trains them. I am frustrated. I am trying not to lose my patience. I am trying to train her in the most loving way possible. It is hard.
And to think, we've only just begun. First it's potty training, then it will be the chewing stage, then it will be the 'I can't hear you!' stage. God made puppies cute for one reason and one reason only, so you don't kill them their first couple of years of life. I guess if I can get a nice dog after only two years of training, I will be happy. It's taking me a lot longer to train the other four who live in the same house.
