Running of the Bulls, sort of....

About a month ago, Bob took the kids to the last Diamondback baseball game of this season. They had a great time snacking on peanuts and popcorn. The kids seemed to really enjoy the game and the sights of the game.

After the game ended they were allowed to run the bases. I couldn't imagine what it would feel like for a person under 4 feet and under 10 years old to be on the field of a major league baseball diamond. Baseball greats have run on the same dirt that they ran on. The World Series was played on that field. Geez, Derek Jeter once stood where they stood and looked up at the crowd, just like my kids got to do.

Alas, anybody who wants to run the bases after any Sunday home game can, but do they realize what they are doing? Do they appreciate the ball club allowing them to run on sacred ground? I hope each and every one of my kids are grateful for that opportunity that day because I get goosebumps for them just thinking about it.
