October 31st. Halloween. Mary says that the next president should make Halloween a day off for everybody. I mean, really, how much learning happens on Halloween day during school? It may be a good idea.
Halloween is the day before All Saints Day, the day that we honor the dead. We honor Veteran's with a day off from school. We honor Columbus for finding America (wink, wink) with a day off. We honor those who work hard with Labor Day off. We honor two dead presidents with days off. Why shouldn't we honor the spirits of all who have passed with a day off? (I am telling you this election has made me able to argue ANYTHING).
Mary went trick or treating as a spider countess. Katie went as Gabriella from High School Musical 2 (not to be confused with Gabriella from HSM1 or now 3). Bobby and big Bob dressed as Darth Vader.
For the first year we were down a man, as Mary went trick or treating with her bestest friend, Kara. She was missed but we were able to get plenty of candy without her. I took the twins trick or treating and Bob stayed home to freak out the ones that came to our door.
One holiday down, two to go.....
